Open Mic Productions was created after Chris Bauer and her husband sold
their small market radio station in December 2002. Chris markets her 25 years
of copy writing, voice tracking and commercial producing skills to small market
radio stations across the U.S. Being a small market station owner, she
understands the challenges facing small market owners while serving
hometown communities. Her dedication and knowledge of broadcasting is
100%. Her ability to tap into a clients needs and business personality when
copy writing, her personable voice tracked shows are well researched and
prepped for hometown focus, and her commercial production proficiency are all
top of the line.
February 2003, the very next month following the kick off of Open Mic
Productions, she began producing Country Conversations with the Legends
(CCL) under its business umbrella. As show talent and producer of CCL, Chris
interviewed over 125 of country music’s legendary stars….her first conversation
was with country icon, Bill Anderson followed by other stand out’s such as
Tanya Tucker whom she remains in contact with today, Lacy J. Dalton her all
time country idol, Jesse Colter whom she has insurmountable respect for and
even located Sylvia who is a practicing Life Coach. As for male country star
stand out’s the flirty Willie Nelson is included, as well as extremely humble Kris
Kristofferson actually, out spoken John Conley and the most misunderstood
Billy Joe Shaver. CCL was heard on select stations coast to coast and border
to border…..it’s affiliate list was growing when Chris’s mother’s health became
her top priority. After four years of successful growth, CCL ended May 2007.
As Open Mic Productions enters into another growth segment of it’s business
history. Chris credits her 27 broadcast years experience spent as announcer,
news director, program director, operations manager and owner as the reason
for offer her services to other owners and managers of small market stations.
